Moonpaw was out in the training grounds practicing. There was a rock next to a tree on the edge of the training ground. Yeah. She was fighting the rock. She had come out here to take a break from the responsibilities of being a clan leader. She got ready to leap again, this time accidently missing and runnin head first into the rock's side. Her head was spinning.

Her paws padded against the rough, soft, and new ground below her. It was weird, to be in this new area of land, far away from where her old home had been. The leaves murmured with a sigh of relief around her as the wind blew lightly against them. Leaf-Bare was just finishing up and Greenleaf was coming once more. Her mind went back to the time at her old home, at the old camp. Many of the senior warrior's didn't come with them, a few did, but most did not. If they walked right into the face of death and accepted it, the other warriors, including the former leaders, they should be happy that at least they escaped death and that the Clan's would continue on. However, it was still sad to ponder on what happened. Many cat's got split. Some from their mates, others from their mentors, some from their kits, and such like so. Starclan had sent them with their Medicine Cat's and for that, she was grateful.
She sniffed the air, catching the scent of Moonpaw, her apprentice before and after whatever had happened back at their old home. Moonpaw was still young however, perhaps there was less to miss. She ran quickly to the training ground, happy to find her apprentice there and not lying hurt. The territory still was in need of being explored and who knew what evils still lay, apart from the other Clans. The tension building up, and up. Peaceful turned to not. Would this home be the actual end for them all? She pushed the thought away, it would be no use to continue pondering over it, especially when her apprentice was close by.
Watching, she gasped, running to Moonpaw. "Mouse-Brain!" She hissed, though within that hiss lay worry and it was obvious. All cat's and clan's that had re-ordered knew that the apprentice's that had been chosen to lead them to a new home were also chosen to lead them as a Clan. Her tail wrapped protectively around her apprentice. "It seems you still have things to learn, young one." She purred, licking the top of the young cat's head.

"Yuck!" Moonpaw rounded on her mentor, fire in her eyes. "I'm not a kit anymore! Don't treat me like that! I don't know what is wrong with all of you! I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself!" Moonpaw walked off with her tail in the air and sat down a few fox-lengths in front of her mentor, back to her.
She tried to calm down, but it wasn't working very well.

"I can't believe Starclan." She muttered, loud enough for her apprentice to hear. "Out of all the mouse brained things they can think of, they send apprentice's to lead us and make those apprentice's our leader, without those apprentice's having apprentice's of their own." She let out a sigh, it was true, these were her thoughts and it wouldn't be surprising if other cat's harbored similar feelings. There were a good amount of older warrior's with better experience and such along those lines, older than her, by a little, who would be far more better suited as leader's. It was like making a kit a deputy, it was completely mouse-brained. It wasn't that she hated her apprentice, obviously, or that she was jealous, because that wasn't it either, but for the fact that these little-experienced cat's were going to be leaders.. leaders with huge responsibilities on their backs.
She had watched silently at the she-cat's outburst and as she walked a few fox-lengths away, her back to her. "Did I ever say you were a kit?" She mewed calming, or as calm as she could get. She was irritated and it showed. "Perhaps you should hit your head harder on that rock." She continued, her voice encouraging, as if she truly wanted for her apprentice to have another go with hitting herself on the head with the rock. "However, no matter what way you look at it, whether you're going to become a mouse-brained leader or not, you're still my apprentice, the one I was asked to mentor by Sunstar and I will keep my word. And I worry Moonpaw. For you and the other three apprentice's but more for you because you're MY apprentice and while I don't worry as much as a mother to her kits, I still worry. Even if you weren't becoming an unexperienced leader of mine, I would still worry."

"Why can't you other's just have faith?I don't understand it.I'm already ready to be a warrior. In one moon I will be of age for that, but that step is being overlooked in order for me to lead.As soon as I am made leader, I think things will start returning to normal. Besides,I'll always have you to help guide me right?" Moonpaw glanced up at the trees. Then subconciously, she said,"I wasn't even trying to hit the rock with my head. That stupid branch tripped me." Moonpaw couldn't help but feel like no one wanted her around. It's not like she hasn't heard their whispers. She knew they all talked about her. I wonder if the other leaders have this same problem? She thought.

"Me and most of the clan." She replied softly back. She padded closer to her apprentice, once more her tail wrapped behind Moonpaw, as if hugging her. "There are many reasons why our faith is split. StarClan has chosen four inexperienced warriors to have such powerful roles, of course there is going to be doubt about that, as well as talk." She sighed, "Even I have my doubts, but we will see if you can prove to yourself, ThunderClan, and the other clans if you are fit to be leader. Than others won't have as much doubts." Her mew was calm but did not hold any distaste for her apprentice, why would she?
"However, I don't think things are going to be an easy climb up. For all of you." She continued darkly. Things weren't going so well as it was. Things could only go downhill from here before it went back up.

"Things will work out.Starclan has told me so. Sure,we may be inexperienced, but experience will come. I'm sure every leader has started out the same, even though they may have made it there by going through the other ranks, but we all start out confused, and clueless." Moonpaw looked up at her mentor, eyes sparkling.
"Things will work. Think of it as a seed. If you plant the seed, give it the proper attention, and care it will one day grow into a great oak tree. Mighty, and strong." Moonpaw was sure about that.

"Perhaps." She replied, standing up, her eyes and motions seeming somewhat distant. That was just the way she acted, she would be friendly one minute than more distant the next. All cat's, including her apprentice, had already seen this side of her. Right now, she wanted to be back in the old forest, with their old leader, with her family and friends that had stayed back, she wasn't even sure and she even doubted that they were alive. "Shall we go back to camp or should I stay here and train with you some more?" She asked.

Moonpaw sat up,looking more cheerful, "Would you mind staying and training me?I want to work on my fighting skills." She felt that her hunting skills were as good as they could get,but was still unsure of her fighting. She wanted it perfected. Maybe if she can manage to do that then the clan will follow her more willingly.
